Frequently Asked Questions
What is ECVC?
ECVC is a travel volleyball program, aimed at helping young athletes learn anything from the basic skills to the most advanced details of both beach and indoor volleyball.
How do I register?
Please click on the “Steps to join” tab and select either Indoor or Beach Volleyball, There you can find the step by step instructions on what you need to do to register. You must register through both USAV (The governing body of volleyball in the United States) at GulfCoastVolleyball.org and through ECVC itself by sending us an email with your information at EmeraldCoastVolleyballClub@gmail.com.
How much does club volleyball cost?
The fee for this indoor season is between $1350 and $1850 depending on the team you are selected for. We will have both a Regional training team and National Training team this season.
What does the fee cover?
Fees cover custom uniforms (excluding black shoes, black socks and black knee pads, to be purchased by you) including 2 Jerseys, Spandex, Warm Up Jacket, Back Pack, and Club T-shirt. Practice sessions (at least two per week for 18+ weeks) Entry fees paid for all scheduled tournaments. Fees also cover coach’s costs for practice times, certifications and education, tournaments, travel expenses to tournaments such as hotel stays, food, gas etc.
Can I make payments?
We do allow for you to split this up into payments. You will make the initial deposit to accept your child's position on the team they are selected for (this will allow us to order uniforms and begin to pay for tournament entry fees.), and then 3 remaining installments to be paid on the same date each month. Please contact us if you have any questions about payments.
What is the Developmental Program?
The Developmental program is geared towards athletes 12 and under that do not make the traveling 12u team. Practices are held on Sunday afternoons from December through the end of March. Athletes will learn the basic skills associated with indoor volleyball. They will also have the opportunity to play in 2 grass roots tournaments against kids in developmental programs in other areas of our region.
Will club volleyball help my child’s chances at earning a college scholarship?
Yes, staying active in volleyball year round is very helpful for an athlete that wishes to work towards playing at the collegiate level. We take our older teams to large tournaments where college coaches and recruiters gather to watch many athletes in one central location as opposed to having to travel to watch one athlete at a high school game. Although we cannot guarantee that your child will earn a college scholarship, we will do everything we can to help them do so.
How long is Indoor Season?
Indoor Season runs from mid-November thru the end of April. Tryouts are held in November with practices beginning in December. Tournaments start in February. All ages 14 and under have tournaments on Saturdays, 15 and over tournaments are held on Sundays. There are also 2 day tournaments on occasion.
How long is Beach Season?
Beach Season runs from the beginning of April through the end of July.
